Cuyahoga Falls was founded in 1812 by William Wetmore and was originally named Manchester. It is named after the Cuyahoga River (which flows into Lake Erie) and the series of waterfalls that run along the southern boundary of the city. It is bordered by Akron to the south and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to the northwest.
 

The city offers residents many attractions and facilities: the Brookledge Golf Club (18-hole); Downview Sports Center (batting cages, driving range, skate park, etc.); Downtown for live concerts, dining and special events on the riverfront; The Natatorium – aquatic fitness center; Water Works Aquatic Center – poolside fun and entertainment for the entire summer!
